Displayed Tactics: Turret Placement

Description
----------------------------------------------------------------------
This is a little demo that I cooked up which shows two very different
ways and very effective ways to setup the internal turret defense
inside the bases on this map. There are also other possibilities for
setting up turrets on this map but I have tested them and they are not
as effective as the two setups which I show in this demo.

The first turret setup that is displayed is the one inside the Blood
Eagle base. Basically there is a turret placed in the windows in the
walls which are the furthest apart in the base. These two turrets
provide equal coverage for the front entrance. The turret on the
window which is placed by the rear entrance also provides coverage
for that entrance. The third turret is placed in the corner of the
back entrance and it faces the position where an enemy would enter
the base almost guaranteeing a sure hit. The fourth turret in the
setup is placed on the level below just on the corner of the ramp
which leads to the base. This is the only position where you can
place a turret on the lower level without any interference. The
benefits of keeping a turret there are questionable since the turret
is very exposed to enemy fire. However, I placed a turret there just
to demonstrate that it can be placed in that position. Also, it is
recommended that the rear entrance out of the base be mined heavily
in order to give any would-be attackers a little shock. Overall, this
turret setup is very effective. The turrets give good coverage and
they are spaced out a fair amount.

The second turret setup is the one inside the Diamond Sword base.
This setup also has a turret in the window on the wall between the two
inventory station. That position is quite effective for a turret
since it allows that turret to cover the front entrance and also to
provide fire for any enemies who enter the base through the back
entrance. The second turret placement is a little odd since the
turret is placed in an elevated position on a tooth on the wall on the
back entrance to the base. This turret is extremely effective since
it's position allows it to fully cover the front entrance and also to
fully cover the rear entrance. It is almost impossible to hide from
that turret when entering through the rear entrance since it's field
of fire allows it to fire from one wall to the other, the same can be
said for it's field of fire for the front entrance. The third turret
is also in an odd position but it's position. The purpose of this
turret is to provide cover fire for the second turret and to cover the
rear entrance. Due to the fact that this turret is placed a little
behind the generator it is a little bit harder to hit. There are a
few little problems with this setup. The first small problem is the
fact that you can't place any turrets on the lower level. The second
problem is the fact that if the second turret, the one that is placed
on the tooth of the wall, is destroyed it cannot be replaced without
destroying the third turret, the one which is placed behind the
generator. However, the advantage of sheer effectiveness of the
second turret is enough to justify this little problem, since after
all it is easy and quick to replace turrets in this base. Overall
this type of a turret setup is still very effective although it does
have it's problems.

I just want to mention that in any game you should place an
inventory station below the front entrance to the base in order to
allow newly spawned players to equip themselves and get back into the
battle. That inventory station saves people a lot of time, and at the
same time it prevents the problem of having people clump inside the
base waiting to resupply, which in itself creates a huge problem and
an advantage for the enemy. Also, don't forget about mining the rear
entrance.
